Biography - Abraham Segovia

Originally from province of Chiriqui, Abraham Segovia is currently the only Panamanian on the team. Growing up surrounded by “mind-blowing nature,” Abraham sites this allows him to use his knowledge plus bring the local “campesino” ingredient into our mix. In 2009, Abraham graduated from University of Louisville with a BS in Communications and a minor in Psychology. He’s currently working on a marketing degree from State University of New York, Panamanian branch. Balancing school work and says his Kalu Yala research is a challenge that he welcomes. Abraham began working for Kalu Yala in February, assisting Kimberly Hall in maintaining company operations. Now, he’s working as an economic analyst, doing logistics research on cattle handling and agriculture “in my beautiful and very complicated Panama”. He’s also helping the interns with their cultural adaptation by giving Spanish lessons and cooking Panamanian cuisine among other things.
