Biography - Brigitte Desvaux

A graduate of Sustainable Design Studies at Boston Architectural College (BAC), Brigitte is the On-site Outdoor Recreation Director at Kalu Yala. Her passion and drive to make a change is in effect as she works with interns to develop Outdoor Rec opportunities that both comply with Leave No Trace principles as well as boost camp morale, promoting both environmental and social sustainability. A long time passion, Brigitte has chosen the path of sophisticating her skills to master this passion for sustainability. In hopes of putting these skills to practice, she also plans on submerging herself in the culture of the Kalu Yala directors and interns, the “clientele” of the future city, and the Panamanian culture in general. Cultural identity has been a life-long fascination of Brigitte’s since she grew up spending her summers in France, while living in Rhode Island the rest of the year. Panama was the first country she visited in Latin America. She is aware of the possibilities and opportunities for a sustainable community there and she hopes to enrich her life experience in Central America with her open-mindedness and eagerness to learn. Brigitte is looking forward to nurturing her greatest passions in life, living in harmony with nature and promoting fun outdoor recreation activities for all to enjoy.
