Biography - Gasun Han

A self-proclaimed explorer, Gasun has always enjoyed traveling around the world, learning about new cultures and meeting people with diverse backgrounds. Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, she had the privilege of having opportunities to travel around Korea and other countries in Asia with family and friends. When she became 19, she decided to move to the US to see and explore the other side of the World. After living in Atlanta and Miami, Gasun moved to San Francisco to start school and study Recreation, Parks and Tourism. "The more I study about parks and recreation, the more I am attracted to the concept of sustainable tourism." Gasun feels fortunate to find this internship opportunity with Kalu Yala where she can learn more about international ecotourism. Now, she is in her 13th country of journey, Panama, ready to explore and help create the Kalu Yala community. She says "The best part of working with Kalu Yala is that we, as a team, can create a model to show the world how communities should be developed..... and you know, what a great way to finish my last semester!"
