Biography - Greg Forney

Originally from Wilmington Delaware, Greg Forney is a senior at Purdue University studying biochemistry, entrepreneurship and innovation. Natural systems have fascinated Greg for his entire life; this fascination is what drives his love of the outdoors, adventure, chemistry and biological environments. Greg has always had a passion for different cultures thanks to his travels to South America, Europe and Africa. These travels have made him particularly sensitive to the need for the sustainable practices necessary to provide for all of the people on this planet. As an avid rock climber and outdoorsman, Greg feels at home adapting to adverse circumstances, problem solving, living out of a backpack, and waking up somewhere new each day. An unquenchable thirst for adventure is what draws Greg to the jungles of Panama to join the Kalu Yala biology team. His main goal for his time in Panama is to examine the feasibility of sustainable economic opportunities that the jungle’s natural resources present to the future community of the Kalu Yala valley. The strengths that he brings to the biology team are his perseverance, working towards the best interest of a group, innovative problem solving, and a positive attitude no matter the circumstances.
