Ian is a second generation Tucsonan. He graduated in the fall of 2010 from Northern Arizona University with a degree in hotel and restaurant management. Ian is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping and exploring, along with numerous other outdoor activities. Growing up and working in the American Southwest has provided Ian a unique opportunity to become familiar with different types of ecosystems, geologic formations and various flora and fauna. In the summer of 2009, Ian studied abroad in Costa Rica, as well as traveled to Panama and Ecuador. This trip sparked a passion for international traveling and for Latin American culture. Ian first heard about Kalu Yala about 2 years ago, and was immediately interested in the project. He is ecstatic about his opportunity to gain knowledge about sustainability practices firsthand. He plans to implement an eco-tourism program that includes activities that will be appropriate for the resources the valley provides. Ian has the flexibility and ability to be whatever the Kalu Yala project needs for success.
