Macaw Hey everyone! great news. There are new opportunities for international internships with Kalu Yala.  If you are interested in global experience and the chance of a lifetime you should look into Kalu Yala’s intern program at our website www.KaluYala.com.  There are a few new programs being added to the company this summer.  One of the new focuses is a Biology research program, which will be based in San Miguel, a small town about 45 minutes from Panama City, Panama.  The main objective of the program is to create and take on new projects involving Biology and ecotourism in the Kalu Yala Valley, and to assume the responsibility of preserving the natural beauty of the land while building a community there.  The program has summer goals with specific completion dates.                                                  Jaguar

The summer goals include:

· Log all Plants and Animals – A study that will create the database for all of the different types of species in the Valley.

· Create the Survival Guide for the Valley – A book of survival tactics for bites and other dangerous encounters with species including crisis management strategies and exit strategies.

· Valley Fresh Water System – Create a detailed feasibility report of a fresh water system for all of the different kinds of water (black, grey, clear) for the first master plan community.

· Ecotourism in the Valley – Create hiking, biking and horseback trails.  Create feasibility reports for all kinds of different types of ecotourism possible in the area.

The program is looking for people who are in all kinds of majors including biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, engineering, botany, geology, graphic design, topography, nursing, photography, videography and people interested in ecotourism.  The Biology program needs people who are self-motivated and also willing to “ruff it” for a few days because we do not work in the most forgiving terrain, and commodities that we take for granted on a daily basis are not always there. The program is currently recruiting for the summer and fall semesters.  If you would like to be part of the Kalu Yala team, contact me at pmcoop02@gmail.com
