Summer 2012 Internship: Apply Now!
Kalu Yala Is Still Accepting Intern Applications for Summer.
2012 Summer Internship Dates: May 21st- August 6th
The Kalu Yala Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for students and young professionals who are looking to gain work experience and broaden their cultural outlook. Our interns create projects that are tailored to their individual interest, yet are fundamentally involved in the shaping of the Kalu Yala community. We are currently offering internships in the following programs:
- Agriculture
- Animal Science
- Anthropology
- Biology
- Business
- Community Outreach
- Outdoor Recreation
- Digital Development (new program, inquire for more details)
Our Interns have the chance to experience the best of Panama during their time here. We provide housing in three diverse locations. Whether interns work from Panama City, San Miguel or the Kalu Yala Valley, they have the option to spend time in all three venues. At Kalu Yala, we embrace a work hard, play hard attitude, and encourage interns to travel and explore our favorite destinations during their time off. Kalu Yala is looking for passionate, self-starting individuals who wish to help inspire and continue the progress of our work. We are seeking individuals from all backgrounds who will be able to flourish in a whole-systems, entrepreneurial research environment.

If you can’t come down this summer, consider joining the fun this Fall. Email “Internships@kaluyala.com” to find out how to get ahead of the game!

I am curious to know how Kalu Yala is going to model its agriculture/food production systems? Sustainability refers to the “ability to sustain”, human beings sustain themselves on food. What level of experience does your organization have with sustainable tropical food systems? Do you have first hand experience growing food in the tropics? Have you studied European colonization of the tropics and examined how and why these previous efforts failed?
Who leads the “agriculture” arm of your development initiatives? It would be helpful for readers to see a post related to how you will approach food production. What is Kalu Yala’s approach to sustainable land management, food production, and resource renewal?
I would like more information on cost for this internship
