My time in the valley is officially over and of course it’s bittersweet. The place that I loathed so much the first few days I lived here has become a place where many memories have been made. I’m going to miss waking up to the gorgeous sunrise behind the mountains and the crystal clear water of the Pacora River. I’ll miss falling asleep to the “pew” frogs and brushing my teeth under the stars. Of course one of the things I’ll miss the most is Largo’s amazing food and fresh coffee every morning. You got me to eat my vegetables Largo, good work!
I’ll also be missing the interns I’ve come to know and love.
Jill: I’ll miss your positive attitude, gardening hat, and floral arrangements.
Alice: Your howling and hearing, “what about my needs?” every other day.
Sarah: Your kind heart.
Ryan: The fact that you’re always humming no matter what it is that you’re doing.
Will, Briggs, and Mallory: Your selflessness. You guys are always willing to share your things and get others whatever they need.
Hattie: Your ambition to get work done.
Toma: Your chill attitude and mad volleyball skills.
Austin: I hate to admit it but I’ll miss your alter-egos (especially Jennifer) that I have a love/hate relationship with. I’ll also be missing our bathroom talks. Who else am I going to talk to about those things?
Aaron: Your great personality and love for the creatures you study. Keep it up!
Michael: Your humor, endless supply of movie quotes and creepy mustache (sorry, I still don’t like it ha ha).
Jordan: Your patience with everyone but mostly when it comes to me being particular about everything.
Last but not least to one of my best friends, Kelsey. Thank you for putting up with me. I’m so happy we were tent mates and ours was the last one standing! I’m glad we formed Team Ramrodwith Jordan, Mike, Austin and Aaron. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me not only this summer, but throughout the years that we’ve been friends. Oh, and that you don’t judge me when we get to the city and I eat entire containers of cappuccino cookies as well. Most of all Kelsey, I’m going to miss our late night heart to hearts and seeing and working with you every day.
It’s been a pleasure living and working with each and every one of you guys. You’ve helped me learn a great deal about myself and I’m grateful to have met you. Keep it real and do you.
Love,
Rambo Sambo
