After spending 2 months working in Panama, I can say joining Kalu Yala’s business program was one of the best decisions I have ever made. If you are a current business student, this internship program provides an unique and distinctive professional experience in one of the world’s fastest growing economies.
Panama has a lot to offer. From traveling across the country to learning about the economy, population, and history; it’s apparent that what you will learn and experience here will be useful all your life. If you have a business mind, you will see how many opportunities can be found here. Your job will bring you in contact with many expats, learning their personal experiences, their knowledge of the country and of the Panamanian people.
Additionally, you will receive valuable knowledge and experience on how to start new businesses in an entrepreneurial environment. As a Kalu Yala business intern, you will have to take initiatives in order to achieve your goals.
From a personal point of view, this internship and other activities related to Kalu Yala allowed me to learn a lot about tourism in general, particularely in its sustainable aspects. Since the beginning I mainly focused on how to Kalu Yalas First Steps in Eco-Tourism . Our prototype, “Kalu Yala Escape” is proposed to become Kalu Yala’s tourism division and separate brand, whose aim will be to allow people living in PTY the opportunity to escape to a pristine environment focused on healthy living, outdoor recreation activities and a serene landscape in which to rest.
Reaching your goals will not always be easy as you will have to interact with people from another working culture and with different values. But the experience definetely worth it, and after this, you will be thankful for what it brought you.
